How to find success: don't stay out of position

I heard John Maxwell say this in an interview and it's stayed with me ever since. He said "No matter how gifted or committed you are, if you're out of your position, you're not going to be successful. That's why it's important to find your sweet spot."

To live a truly successful life, it is essential to find your sweet spot, stay in your sweet spot and operate therein.

That's why it's never a good trait to envy anyone. Because, the same opportunity is available to all - the opportunity of time.

It's a tragedy when you find people living their lives in never-ending competition with someone else. No matter how much in material wealth they may have, they're not satisfied. A person that's unsatisfied by comparing their lives to someone else' is an unsuccessful person.

If you must be unsatisfied, let it be in relation to your set goals and growth.

To be satisfied, you must identify your position to play from.

No wonder so many people are struggling in their job. It can be traced back to functioning in a position that isn't where their sweet spot is.

What's your sweet spot?

Find it, get into it and stay in position. Then and only then, can you be a success.

If you're already in the hole, then it's right to get angry and be unsatisfied with where you are. Getting angry is not enough, you must decide to find the position right for you.

All of these take courage.

Cheers!
