Success is one of those discussion
that different people have different views about. The topic or better, the talk
on the subject of success is not a new concept. It is not a thing that is new
to this set of generation only. The only difference is each generation
definition of success, each individual definition of success and also every
community’s definition of success.
After every definition of success and
what success may look like; comes one of the most important part – “how to get
success?”
Some great minds have suggested doing
what you are happy or passionate about, success will inevitably follow. I
cannot agree better. But! How do you discover your passion? How do you turn
that hobby to a passion and then to a business; and a successful business?
Let’s take for example: the likes of Elon
Musk, Steve Jobs, Bill gates, Strive masiyiwa, Aliko Dangote and many others
who are still being developed and also growing their businesses to be a
stronghold on the global stage. There are common traits between these people
that we will look into and see how we can apply them into building our own
successes.
Yes! Application – that is the wisdom
in acquiring all of these knowledge that you will learn in bytes sizes.
This book is not going to teach you
something new or a new tactic neither a short cut to achieving success. This

your life, improve your life and if you have been out of course, bring you back

When people are looking to succeed in
their lives, some become frustrated and feel lost somewhere along the
way. They may have clearly set goals that they really want to reach. But just wanting
it is not enough. They
find themselves pulling back, sabotaging themselves, or failing. These are
conflicts within that challenge their beliefs and cause doubts and fears.
To succeed, you must not only want It
but desire it earnestly. Someone rightly said, the proof of desire is pursuit.
And that means, if you desire success, you must pursue it. But, pursue it in
the right way, using the right principles.
It is estimated that only 1% of the
people actually go ahead to achieve success while the others struggle and
probably give up before they reach their goal.
Most people go through life with
negative images of themselves. These are inaccurate assumptions about
guilt, self-doubt, and reality. They can become the prison not allowing
them to reach their goals.
Everyone of us wants to do something
good, great things or be someone great,
but only a few will succeed at being GREAT. This perceived greatness exists in everyone
of us, and it’s up to us to identify this greatness and pull it out. It’s
important to believe that each one of us is far more powerful than we
think. Since we each have the ability to make whatever we want out of our
lives, all we need is to figure out how it’s done and do it.
When you are serious about success,
you will pursue it and you don’t pursue it by running from pillar to post or
jumping from one idea to another without applying its principles. When you keep
chiseling away at your goal, you learn to identify opportunities and make use
of them.
I bring you these five principles of
success. I am certain that if you follow these principles, your chances of
being at the right place at the right time go up significantly. Like I said, these 5 principles
are not new, they are everywhere and probably in every book that you have read
but still you do not think they are important enough to be applied or they are
too simple that you ignored them. The reason it is a 'one dollar tip'; the
principles are extremely simple. Remember, principles like gravity cannot only
be altered by greater principle like the law of lift; they cannot just be
ignored.
As you read, do not wait until you get to the end of this book before
you start applying the principles. Success is not the destination but a journey
and at different point of the journey, you will achieve different form of
success. And one thing you must do is always celebrate your successes at every
point.

PRINCIPLE 1: BE YOURSELF

When you find yourself at that point
of needing validation to feel confident or happy, you have outsourced your
destiny to the hands of others or situations. The price of being yourself is
uncertainty and aloneness. And the human natural tendencies is acceptance and
socialism. And that’s where the challenges lie.
But, the people that have gone ahead
to change their world are the non-conformist. At that time, they looked so
crazy to the world. They didn’t care. They were alone for sometime, they
strived on. Imagine the craziness in the idea of Steve Jobs, putting computer
in every homes.
In the pursuit of success, you cannot
afford the luxury of living someones else’s life. Or being controlled by
external forces that are shining. Don’t live your life based on social media
validation or recommendation. You’ve got to be yourself.
God created just one of you and placed
in you the ability to do what only you can do. If he needed two of the same
you, he would have done so. But he didn’t. That shows, there is no two of you
anywhere in this world. If you decied to be someone else, who will be you?
Until you recognize the power of YOU,
you will never be truly be independent. You will be so dependent on someone
else to make you successful or situations to change for you to be happy. And
that is the ultimate prize for failure.
You must recognize this you. You must
appreciate this you. You must develop this you. No one will do it for you. Not
even God! God has created you and giving you the ablity to live it to the
fullest. What are you going to do about this you?
Rеjесt conformity. Don’t lеt dеfеаt
сruѕh уоu just
because you do not know who you are or what to do. Inѕtеаd, find out who you
are, the stuff you are made up of and that thing that makes you different.
Remember, self discovery is the best discovery you could ever make. If
you have ever failed, get straight back up аgаin. Hоld уоur head up high. Be
bold, be ѕtrоng. Lightеn thе mооd. Laughter iѕ a winning mеdiсinе. Rеасh for
уоur drеаmѕ. Keep your mind аbоvе limitаtiоnѕ.
Successful people do not pattern their
lives after everyone else. They are disruptive and causes disruption with
almost everything they have touched. They are resolute and decisive.
They believe they can do something. They do not look to the government because
government is just a tool foer you to use.
Believe is your ideas. You must
believe in your mind. You must be creative. You must be resolute. You were not
borm for nothing; you were born for a reason, not to be a looser but a winner.
Do you know you were not the only sperm that was released but you beat all the
others to get to the egg? If you do, you will never outsource your success to
someone else.

сhаngеѕ оvеrnight. Hоwеvеr, if уоu keep this principle in your mind and be very
conscious of it everyday of your life, you’ll dеfinitеlу find уоurѕеlf getting
closer to that desired success. Remember, success is a journey.
Do not go after money: when you set out to discover YOU, do not put
money as your measurement tool. Don’t even include it as one of the parameters.
Look out for an opportunity to serve. Think what more can you do to make the
world a better place. Mark Zuckerberg wants to connect more people around the
world. Steve Jobs and Bill Gates wants everyone to have access to a computer.
The money was not the first thing in their view, they wanted to make a
difference and that difference today has grown to be a major force in the
world. In service, you will find out what you are truly passionate about. If
you can do it without being paid and you never get tired of doing it and you
just want to do it again and again? Then, that is what you should go for. And
guess what – the money is likely to follow because you are creating value.
Dream and dream big! : If you must dream, ensure you dream big.
Ther are no consewuences in dreaming big. Nobody will punish you for dreaming
big; not even our master. Once you discover what you are made up of and know
your true self, then you must start dreaming. Dream beautiful dreams. If the
wrong one comes up, push it aside and create the reality of what you want;
create the reality of your dreams. Dream wide, dream big, dream of ownership. When
you start to dream, then you will know that anything is possible. But until you
become truly independent and living YOU, your dream may not mean much.
Become Independent: Dependent people cannot really do much with
their lives. If you are at this point in your life, you do not own yourself.
Someone else owns you. And one way to dsiscover if you are dependent is very
simple. I am not talking about you being in physical slave chains but about
your mind being held bound. I do not blame you entirely because freedom is very
expensive to live because you become responsible for every choices, you’ve got
to make your decisions and the consequences of that decision is yours to bare
alone. But when you are dependent, you just act out what they said you should
do and the consequences are not your but theirs. Afterall, they told you to do
it.Though you canot do much with your life if you are dependent but you can do
something about it. One way to free yourself from this prison is to be a giver.
Give yourself, give money, give happiness, give gifts. The blessing is to the
giver and not the taker. No wonder, the bible says the lender Is a servant t the
borrower.
Get a coach:
Do you know that African proverb “What an elder will see sitting down, a child
won’t still see it even if he climbs a tree”? Your coach, mentor or teacher can
help you rcognize your strength and give you an opportunity to help you harness
it. They have lived and living the life that you dreamt of living. You must
seek these people out. Either you are following them through their books, audio
and video materials and also go for evente where they will be speaking –
whether paid or unpaid. Your coach will make your journey in life easy. After
you discover who you are, this is the next step.
