The Gospel is also for Startups, Entrepreneurs and Business Owners

It is amazing and also a common place how people tend to separate their Christian life from their business. They seem to forget who the father of business was ad also that God was also a startup who grew it to become what it is today.

Genesis 1: 2 (KJV)

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

As a business owner, your best guide is the word of God. If not, you will run your business like those of this world and God has said you are not of this world even though you are in here.

Starting a business, growing the business and make it profitable require wisdom but not as the world gives. And glory be to God because He gave us some specific instructions on what to do with your business.

Proverbs 26:15 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
The slacker buries his hand in the bowl; he is too weary to bring it to his mouth.

And

Proverbs 6: 6 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)Go to the ant, you slacker! Observe its ways and become wise.

And places where you didn’t find the direct instructions, there are examples. Like that of Jacob, after serving his father in-law and the in-law tried to play a fast one on him. Read what he did below;

Genesis 30:32 (NIV)Let me go through all your flocks today and remove from them every speckled or spotted sheep, every dark-colored lamb and every spotted or speckled goat. They will be my wages.

That strategy couldn’t have been taught him at Stanford or Harvard. It could have only been by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is your extra ordinary strategist. That spotted idea? Awesome!

Now, Jacob was a man of God who didn’t have the Holy Spirit take abode in him but come and go. Yet, look at what he could do.

What about Joseph? He was cast in prison after being falsely accused by his masters’ wife. Then Pharaoh had a dream that nobody could interpret and how could they solve what they don’t understand. By God’s help, Joseph told Pharaoh the dream and by His Spirit, he proffered the solution.

Reference: Genesis 41

You see, what ever idea you got and decided to run with was put their by God and who do you think is the perfect person to guide you through? – Yeah! God!

Didn’t you read when Jesus Christ needed to pay his tax and all He did was send his disciple to go get a fish from the river and bring the money they find in its mouth? That’s what we are talking about. (Mathew 17:27)

What about when Jesus Christ asked Peter and the others to cast their net to the other side for a great catch? Nobody could have thought that to be possible. No natural and conventional wisdom would have given them that idea. (John 21:6)

If you can only take out the time to study and search the scripture, you will find Gods’ word instructing you all the way. And if you give the Holy Spirit the chance to take over your choices, putting God first, He will teach you how to make profit.

Do not separate your Christian life from your business. Don’t treat God as a second option when you doing business and there is a decision to make. Don’t be like the guy that all he knows is the fire brigade approach; he only remembers God after he has exploited all other options and they failed.

You should always put God first. He should be your go-to guy. You should seek His wisdom early enough. Seek Him and you shall find Him.

If you miss the Godly element, you can only do what you can do. And what you can do by your strength won’t be much.

See below some few steps on how you can take advantage of Gods grace as a startup, entrepreneur and business owner:

1.     Increase grace: this comes by increased knowledge of His word. And this grace is more than unmerited favour. This grace brings more than that into your life.
2.     Speak in tongues more: you can’t neglect this. You must do this if you want to be different from your competitors.
3.     Pay your tithe: This is one aspect you must not joke with as a Christian. Your tithe is just one tenth of your earnings. You don’t give God your tither because it was never yours. You pay it!
4.     Give: Be a giver and this time we are talking about money. This is one way you connect to the supernatural. And when you do this, don’t just give God anything. Give to Him according to His blessings in your life.
5.     Church activities: You see one of the ways the devil keeps you out of Gods’ blessing is to keep you busy. He knows if he can keep away from God, you become an easy target. Don’t fall into this trap. Always be present in Gods’ house and ensure you are functioning to your full capacity too.

So, prosper your business using Gods’ principles and see how you will soar with ease. The race is not to the swift [reference].

If this blesses you, please do share with your friends. And we will be glad to hear form you too.
