Stop Begging

It is amazing and most times sad when you see God’s people beg when they pray, they beg at the place of work because they flout the rules, the beg at home because they could not pay bills and many other begging sprees. This is sad.

Psalms 23:1 (AMP.)

The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, to guide and to shield me], I shall not want.

If you are here and that has been your experience, I bring you good news. You can stop begging today. God does not want you to beg that’s why He sent you His Son to die for you. The bible recorded that “By His stripes we were healed and He became poor so that through His poverty we might become rich - 2 Corinthians 8: 9 and 1 peter 2: 24 respectively”.

2 Corinthians 8:9 (KJV) - For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

1 Peter 2: 24 (KJV) - Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Is this not wonderful? God has sorted you out before you were born. He said “He had freely given you all things to enjoy and you have been blessed with everything that pertains to life and godliness”. It is very important for you to note that the scripture above was in the past; that means god is not about to do it in your life – He has done it!

1 timothy 6: 17 (AMP) - As for the rich in this present world, instruct them not to be conceited and arrogant, nor to set their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly and ceaselessly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.

And you must choose to live in this reality and be conscious of this truth everyday of your life.

No man should glory in men for all things are yours, both death and life - 1 Corinthians 3:21.

So, why do you beg? I will tell you;

It is because you do not know who you are in Christ Jesus. Even though you are born again, you have not brought yourself into the reality of Gods truth. In salvation, all the other blessings of God is packaged in it and delivered to you. Therefore, the moment you are born again, you are ushered into this life.

Hosea 4:6a(KJV) - My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge,...

It is automatic but you must choose to make it your personal experience. You must receive it and make it yours. And receiving here does not connote an idea where you just stretch out your hand for someone to hand you something. The “receiving” we have here is more involved in the activity; it is an action word. The greek word “Lambano” is the actual word and it means to take it, seize it and make it yours.

When you begin to see yourself as the glory of God, you will act differently. And the word of God has all you will ever need to live the life that God has called you into.

He has called you into the kingdom of his dear Son. See what God said about you:  You are a royal priesthood, a holy nation and a peculiar people to show forth the wonders of God (1 peter 2:9).

Action Steps:

  •           Take a mirror and open some of the scriptures above and begin to declare them to yourself. Say them continually as you talk to yourself in the mirror. The Bible says as you look you are changed into the same image as Christ and as He is so are you in this world (2 Corinthians 3:18). Say it to yourself.

  •           Don’t stop talking. The scripture was clear as to how we should respond with God’s word. He said “and the word of God shall not depart out of your mouth (Joshua 1:8)”; that means a closed mouth can mean a closed destiny. When the devil brings you a lie, don’t counter it with thoughts. No! Say the word of God loud enough for the devil and his cohorts of hell to hear it.

  •           Don’t beg. If you owe someone, make a structured plan how you are going to pay the debt. Call them up and let them know your plans and how you plan to pay them, and come to an agreement. At work, if you are that staff that keep breaking the rules, stop it immediately and decide to be the best staff to your company. Become more productive. Refuse to beg!

-          Be bold. God has not given you the spirit of fear but that of power, of love and a sound mind
(2 Timothy 1:7). You should start learning how not to fear. When fear comes, stop It with God’s word. We now have the Spirit of God and we call Him “Abba father”.

Go on and enjoy the glorious life that God has given you. Be the best that God wants you to be. That is one of the ways for men to see your good work and glorify your father in heaven. Did you see that? For God to receive men’s glory, it should be because of you.

Decide to live the best life that God has given you today. Don’t wait till tomorrow, start now.
