Have Faith in God

Mark 11:22: And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

This is the story of Jesus and the fig tree, and as a non-human, you would think what issues brought them together.

On one occasion, Jesus and his disciples were coming from Bethany, and Jesus was hungry. And alas! He saw a fig tree afar off with leaves and he went there hoping to find fruit. But he found nothing but leaves. And this wasn’t the fault of the fig tree either, as it was not the time for figs.

Here’s Jesus’ response:

Mark 11:14, “And Jesus answered and said unto the fig tree, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. “

It is amazing that the Bible recorded specifically that Jesus answered the fig tree, and not 'Jesus said' to the fig tree.

For there to be an answer, that indicates there was a conversation. So, we could interpret their conversation to be:

Jesus: I want to eat fruit from this tree

Fig Tree: You can never eat fruit from this tree

As Christians, you should always respond to every spoken and unspoken word of life issues with words; not with your thought. Life is always presenting you with questions. And it is also responding to your questions too.

Life will question every word and promises of God to you. It will ask you ‘how far with your God?’, it will tell you things that are not in consent with the word of God. It is, therefore, your responsibility to respond, and you must respond in faith to God’s word that you’ve believed.

For instance, if you go to the bank to withdraw money from your account thinking you still have some money in it, and you find none. That is life questioning Gods’ blessing in your life. And you must respond accordingly and instantly with the word of God that is in you. This word is the Rhema word.

The same thing applies to your health, family, and everything that concerns you. After all, Jesus died and his salvation is an all-encompassing one. He became poor so that through his poverty you will become rich. He was wounded so you will be healed.

One key principle in God’s kingdom is ‘talking’; and talking in the open and talking the word of God. It is called the vocalizing of your faith.

Psalms 9:10 says, "And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

Many Christians do not have enough faith in God’s word that is why they would rather speak in silent and in secret instead of shouting it for others to hear. And it is because they fear it won’t come to pass and they don’t want to be 'laughed to scorn' as they did Jesus at one time.

When Jesus spoke to the fig tree,  the Bible recorded that his disciples heard it.

They hear what he said. That is faith.

And when Peter and the others passed through after some days and Peter noticed the fig tree had withered to its root, he brought it to the master’s attention; and the master said:

 “Have faith in God.”

Dare to believe in God and his word and vocalize your faith in so doing, and watch your life move from glory to glory.
