Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
There is an essential disposition you should take wherever you find yourself, especially as a Christian, it should be that of "peace".
For with peace comes prosperity.
For example, If you find yourself working in a toxic environment, your first natural human thought would be to run away or fight back...the fight or flight kind strategy...but don't take that least resistant route.
Rather, your first disposition is to seek for the peace of your workplace and pray for it.
Looking at our theme scripture from The Message translation, it reads;
"I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for"
God is always interested in giving you the future that you hope for.
God said in Jeremiah 29:7 that (more of an instruction);
" And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace."Reading the same scripture from The Message translation;
“Make yourselves at home there and work for the country’s welfare.“Pray for Babylon’s well-being. If things go well for Babylon, things will go well for you.”
Replacing the country with wherever you may be - home, office, business etc., to enjoy the peace and prosperity of that whatever is your 'country', it is your responsibility to seek its peace and pray to God for it, because in the peace you shall have your own peace.
God further said in the twelfth verse of Jeremiah 29, that when you this (seek and pray for the peace of where you are), you shall call upon Him, and He will hear you and you shall find Him.
You might have been worn out by all the stress and toxins of life, God is telling you to seek its peace. It should not be your job how God is going to sort things out for you, He already said He will give you the future that you hoped for.
If He can part the red sea with the blast of His nostrils, then He can fix you up in no time.
