Becoming a Prime Minister: how Joseph got there

How many times have we found ourselves in situations where the outcome was unfavourable? For instance, Joseph is sold into slavery by his brothers, lied to by Potiphar's wife and the butler who forgot to mention him to King Pharaoh.

This is life. And in most cases, it will happen to you on your way to the throne. It will take different forms. No wonder the Bible says, that unless a seed dies, it abides alone.

That is why as a Christian, you must live your life with purpose. The truth is you don't know how you will get to the cross. Only Jesus did. Yet, it didn’t make it any better. Even Jesus prayed to God for the possibility of taking the cup from him.

Going back to Joseph, everything that happened to him, and all the events led him to become the prime minister of Egypt. A foreigner to rule Egypt, only second to Pharaoh. Amazing.

The lesson here is that whatever you're going through, keep going through it. There's always light at the end of the tunnel. We usually don't know how far or close we are to the end of the tunnel. Don't stop trusting God.

Lastly, the Bible didn't record that Joseph was found not guilty of the rape charges. Neither did the Bible record that Joseph tried to clear his name.

Something from your past will not clear off because you became the prime minister. Your goal is to stay and fulfil God's purpose for your life.
