How To Take Charge of Your Life

The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be - Ralph Waldo Emerson

It is surprising how a lot of people have outsourced everything about their lives to someone else or some occasion or thing. They fail to realize that they are the ones responsible for the way events in their lives turn.

The way your life is today is as a result of your thoughts over the years. No wonder Romans 12:1 tells us to

 "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." (NIV)

And that is all you need to change your life. To change your life, you must transform your mind. The challenge for many is that they do not know how to transform their mind.

And again, that same verse tells us to renew our mind by the word if God. The amplified version puts it in a more understanding form;

 "And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you]." (Amp.)

So how do you take charge of your life? Start by renewing your mind. Change the way you think and the way you feel because they are always in alignment.

Another way to take charge of your life is to decide to be a giver and a blesser today. You see, the blessing is always to the one that gives. And I'm not talking just about giving money. Give your money. Give your time. Share your knowledge. This way you live a thousand times more.

One thing always happens when you are the giver; you stop being the needy. You transit from the one that needs help to the one that provide help. That is why the bible tells us that the Holy Spirit is our ever present help in times of need. That is what happens when you are the one providing the help.

The third way is to live decisively. Don't live your day by accident. Don't be among the people that allow life to happen to them. You must be decisive starting today. If you make this a part of your life and live like that daily, you will be amaze how much prosperity you will experience; prosperity that comes with peace.

Decide where you want to work, what kind of company that is. Don't live like the masses, separate yourself from the masses. It is hard to see the shadow when you walk in light. What kind of life do you want to actually live? A kind of life that will enable you to live on your own terms - and that is a successful life.

Living a successful life has nothing to do with the amount of money or wealth you possess. It has to do with how much joy you have and that comes from living life the way you want. You are the architects of your life, so design it the way you want.

Let's run through what we've learnt today:

1. Renew your mind by the word of God
2. Be the giver
3. Live deliberately

You must understand that the word of God doesn't work itself if you do not put it to work; the word of God is for doing. Do all you've read here and see how much success you will experience in your life from today.
