Depression – How To Deal With It
Psalm 39:13 - Look away from me, that I may enjoy life again
before I depart and am no more.”(NIV)
Lately, depression rate has increased around the world. And the worst part is that a lot of people with this mental health issues are hiding it and trying to be strong on their own.
According to the below statistics, it is becoming alarming every single day. More people are prone to take their worn lives by committing suicide, loss of concentration and many more effects.
Here are the latest depression statistics:
- 300 million people around the world have depression, according to the World Health Organization
- 16.2 million adults in the United States—equaling 6.7 percent of all adults in the country—have experienced a major depressive episode in the past year
- 10.3 million U.S. adults experienced an episode that resulted in severe impairment in the past year
- Nearly 50 percent of all people diagnosed with depression are also diagnosed with an anxiety disorder
- It’s estimated that 15 percent of the adult population will experience depression at some point in their lifetime.
As Christians, we have assured of a way of escape out of every trouble we find ourselves. No wonder the Apostle Paul said in 2 Corinthians 4:8 (NIV); “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair”.
God cannot leave us unto ourselves. He is an ever-present help in times of need.
It doesn’t matter what you’re going through at this time, whatever it is, greater is he that is in you than he that is in this world, and declare to yourself just like the Psalmist did: “
Don’t give the devil place in your life to deceive you into being gloomy and down, and feeling down-casted. This is not the life God sent His only Son to die for.
He already made you a winner and a victor. You do not know, because you do not know the scripture. And know here is not the theoretical knowledge but revelation knowledge.
The Bible says in Hosea 4:6; "my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge".
Depression is spiritual; therefore you’ve got to deal with it spiritually with the word of God.
The first step is to meditate day and night on Gods word so you will know how to handle life affairs. (Joshua 1:8 AMP).
