Faith Without Works Is Dead
James 2: 26 - For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
The subject of faith in the body of Christ is quite an interesting and the many assumptions make it more remarkable. Hence, we must keep talking about it, learning about it and sharing our experiences about it until we come to the full knowledge of what faith is – the God kind of faith.
Hebrews 11: 1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for and evidence of things not seen”.
Let’s start by talking about the few things that faith is and isn’t.
+ Faith is not your experience but your ability to trust God to the fullest without a plan B.
+ Faith is not a passive act or feeling; it is very involved. It is practical.
+ Faith works by working it. It is not a stand-alone plugin that just runs itself.
+ Faith is not a leap in the dark but a leap on the word of God.
+ Faith never fails.
The Bible said; “faith without works is dead”.
That is to say, the evidence that you have faith is by the work that you do. Simply put, if you say you trust God then you will do without thinking it rationally when God said you should stretch your hand and divide the sea just like Moses.
Bringing it home, if you believe God for a baby, then you should either get married and start having sex with your partner or you go make an inquiry about IVF and register or you just go adopt a baby.
There must be an action on your part that shows you are expectant of what you are asking for or expecting.
James 2:18 put it very aptly; “But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.”
Now, you know better and I’m sure you will do better with your faith by working it. It is not enough to believe, your believing must be mixed with faith. Because even the demons believe and trembles (James 2:19).
